It's Friday Night...

If you work in an office, you probably understand that 2-3 p.m. feeling of wanting to exit as quickly as possible. Besides this feeling of anxiety and excitement to leave the desk I sit in for 40 hours a week (well technically only 37.5 hours if we're counting my lunch breaks) I start to dream up all the fun stuff a Friday evening could offer a young 24 year old. These dreams, most of them attainable, really get my blood popping. Should I exercise, make a nice dinner, enjoy a netflix, pour a glass of wine, invite friends over, go for a bike ride, go to happy hour, sleep, get dressed up fancy to hit up all the same bars I've been going to for what seems like forever, go to the movies, go on a date, go to a friends house, play scrabble, read a book? Could I possibly do it all in one adventure packed afternoon and night? Well maybe, but let's get down to the nitty and gritty of getting off at 3 p.m. and the options that will make me smile come Saturday morning. I have found that a little exercise before a night begins is the best way to show my A game. That's right - giving up an hour to sweat and motivate myself = a whole night of looking and feeling stellar. The next question is, can I avoid the happy hour phone call? Check, my gal pals don't exit their jobs until 5ish - that gives me two hours of "Jen time." Now the real question is where and when do I begin my night? Long Beach offers a plethora of bars/restaurants to visit and Friday nights are the popular evening to be in good company of folks who thought the weekend would never show it's face. Decision made, no restaurant (we're saving money) and let's face it, I make great healthy dinners that satisfy my pallet far more than bar food. Ok, this means I'm drinking at least one glass of wine with dinner - maybe two. Around this time I'm probably feeling in the mood to exit my comfortable couch and see what the evening has to offer. Well folks, this is where it ends. Wondering what or if I'll go out and do something this evening? I guess I'll have to update you later on the night, weekend and the debauchery I may or may not of gotten myself into. Cheers.
